And in our aching hearts we know He has found sweet rest at last In the arms of Jesus. Surrounded by family and friends on Friday, October 26, 2001, Maurice went home to be with the Lord at the age of 65 at his residence. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Irene; sons, Gary (Doris), Kerry (Helena), Darryl; daughters, Val, Cheryl, Wendy (George), Sherrie (Darnell), Donna, Karen, Crystal, Kim; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, Brayden and Kyler. Also surviving are his brothers, Johnny (Pearl) of Scanterbury, Leslie (Lena) of Winnipeg, Melvin (Sylvia) of B.C.; one sister, Evelyne of B.C. He was predeceased by his sons, Larry (1957) and Faron (1997). Maurice was born and raised in Scanterbury, MB. He lived in Winnipeg for the past 38 years and was a member of the St. Johns Anglican Church. He was a very loving, caring man who will be missed dearly by all those who knew him. Wake services will be held on Sunday and Monday, October 28 and 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m., also at the chapel, with Pastor William George Raven officiating. Interment to follow in Scanterbury Cemetery. Honourary pallbearers will be George, Darnell, Orton, Winston, Earl, Farrell. Active pallbearers will be Kerry, Darryl, Gary, Darren, Chuck, Donny Desjarlais. Aboriginal Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
