Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERBERT KARL BERTRAM Peacefully with his daughter by his side, our beloved father and grandfather Herbert Bertram passed away on Friday, October 19, 2001 at Bethania Home. Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife Margarethe (nee Peters), his son Herbert and his son-in-law Lawrence OGorek, as well as his parents, Hans and Johanna Bertram. This special man will be forever remembered by his son Alfred (Carolyn) and their sons, Jonathan and Bryce; his daughter Hildegarde and her children, Christine (Jason) Zilinsky, Elizabeth OGorek, Laura (Dale) Klapprat and Linda (Jason) Marko; and his great-granddaughters, Brianna Z. and Emily K. He also leaves a void in the lives of his brother Lothar and his family, as well as those of his Peters family. Dad was born August 2, 1921 in Erfenschlag, Germany, coming to Canada with his father in 1929. He married the love of his life Margarethe on November 4, 1951 in Springstein, MB. Mom and Dad spent their time enjoying, no possessions, but what was truly special to them, quality time with each other and their family. Dad was a quiet, caring and soft-spoken man who seldom drew attention to himself. He was a devoted family man who exhibited both the patience of Job and the wisdom of Solomon. By his example, we learned unconditional love and respect. He was a determined man who successfully struggled through the difficulties of this life. He survived cancer, coped with the daily reality of Parkinsons and endured the unfortunate condition his last surgery left him in. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 31, at 1:30 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., with interment to follow. Viewing will be prior to the service. We would like to thank the kind staff of Bethania Home for the care given to our father and grandfather, enabling him to continue to live life with some quality and dignity. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the charity of your choice in his name. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
