Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUTH ELSIE McBURNEY (nee GRAPES) Three days prior to her 81st birthday, on October 26, 2001 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Ruth, beloved wife of Irwin McBurney, found rest. Besides her husband of 55 years, she is survived by: her daughter Ann (Alec) and children, Chris and Karla; and her son Michael (Rebecca) and children, Cameron and Joseph. She is further survived by her sister Gertrude (Ken) Mathews; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her two brothers, Wilfred and Douglas. Ruth was a life-time member of United Church Women and a member of the Quebec Womens Institute. Ruth was born in Eaton Corner, PQ in 1920, graduated from the Montreal Foundling Hospital as an Infant Nurse; married Irwin in 1946; enjoyed life as a farm wife and mother; built their retirement dream home in Sawyerville, Quebec in 1980; relocating to Winnipeg in 1998 to be closer to family. Special thanks to Sally Sharp, Eileen Tissot, Dave Cagorge, Sharon Macdonald and all the staff at Donwood Elderly Persons Housing. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 30, at 10:00 a.m. at Donwood Manor Personal Care Home Chapel with Chaplain Laura Friesen officiating. Ruths ashes will be buried in Eaton Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Donwood Manor Recreation Fund, 171 Donwood Dr., R2G 0V9 or CNIB 1080 Portage Ave., R3G 9Z9. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
