JOSEPH AUREL (JOE) JOYAL January 30, 1925 - October 28, 2001 Peacefully on October 28, 2001, at the age of 76 years, Joseph passed away at the Riverview Health Centre. Joe was predeceased by his wife Kathleen and his two sons, Edward and Aurel; and his two brothers, Edmond and Auguste, also by many brothers and sisters-in-law. Joe leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his two daughters, Julia (Robert) of Edmonton, AB and Karen (Dean) his two sons, Roger and Albert (Barb), all of Winnipeg. Grandpa will be sadly missed by all, especially his little angel grandchildren, Jonathan, Kaitlyn and Kendra. He is also survived by brother Claude (Anna), and sister Lucille (Maurice), and by sister-in-law and friend Yvette Joyal. Joe was born in Ste. Agathe, MB in 1925 to Orise and Ernest Joyal. As a young man Joe obtained employment with C.N.R., where he travelled a great part of North America. In 1952, Joe married Kathleen Heinrichs, and together had six children. Joe was an honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. After 35 years of service to the C.N.R. he retired early so that he could enjoy life with his wife. Joe and Kathleen travelled extensively for 15 years, until Kathleen passed away. Joe was a man who was very proud, gentle and was full of love which he shared with his family. Prayers will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., on Tuesday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, October 31 at 3:00 p.m. from Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Blvd. with a gathering of family and friends to follow. Interment will take place on Thursday, November 1 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank Dr. Casey Woo, the Oncology Department at Victoria Hospital, Christine Newel, Joe and Carol. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, Palliative Sub Program Trust Fund, 8024-808 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, R2H 2A6.
