GLADYS MAY EVANS (FLETCHER) Peacefully on October 28, 2001 at the Health Sciences Centre, Rehab Hospital, Gladys Evans passed away with her family at her side. She is survived by her loving husband William Gareth; and sons, David (Nancy), Rick (Denise) and grandchildren, Jonathan (Nicole), Cynthia, Heather, Melissa, and Paul; her brother Hubert Fletcher (Hannah) and her sister-in-law Ann Fletcher. She was predeceased by her brother Jim Fletcher. Gladys was born July 27, 1916 in Moose Jaw, SK. In 1938 she graduated as an R.N. at Moose Jaw General Hospital and following that graduated as a Laboratory Technician in 1940. She married William Gareth Evans, September 2, 1944 and moved to Winnipeg in 1945. She was a member of the St. Vital Ladies Curling Club, Windsor Park Ladies Golf Club, and the Womens Auxiliary to the Pharmacists of Manitoba. She was an active member of the Windsor Park United Church and the U.C.W. of the Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Canvin and the nurses and staff on 6 at the Rehab Hospital and the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their loving care. Thanks to family and friends for their love and support. A special thanks to Rev. Dr. Sharon Wilson for her never ending love and caring. Interment will be held Thursday, November 1 at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (South of the Royal Canadian Mint) at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Dr. at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation may be made in Gladys memory to Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 2P4 or to a charity of ones choice.
