DOROTHY FINLAY (BRAYFORD) nee GARRATT Peacefully, on Monday, October 29, 2001, Dorothy Finlay, aged 91 years of Winnipeg. Mom was born December 2, 1909 in Duma, SK. She grew up on the farm with her parents, Agnes and Malcolm Garratt; brothers, Bob and Jim and sister Nellie, who have predeceased Dorothy. In 1929, Mom married Roy Brayford and together they raised their children, Don and Jean Brayford on a farm in Manor, SK. Roy later worked in the mines where he was killed in a mine accident. Later, Mom met Roy Nott and spent many years with him in the mining towns of Snow Lake, MB and Madsin, ON. Dorothy was a very good mom and grandma. She liked to bake cookies and go bowling with her grandkids, Pat and Greg. Mom resided at Bluebird Lodge for 15 years and later spent 12 years at Charleswood Care Centre. Left to cherish Dorothys memory are her son Don Brayford (Sadie) grandchildren, Steve (Laura), Arlene (Brett) and five great-grandchildren, all of Pitt Meadow, BC; daughter Jean Busch; grandchildren, Patricia, Greg (Judy) and four great-grandchildren of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her son-in-law James Busch in 1999. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 2 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery.
