Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN ALFRED (JACK) McMANAMAN July 22, 1932 - October 28, 2001 Peacefully, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, John (Jack) McManaman passed away Sunday, October 28, 2001 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 69. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving and devoted wife of 50 years Evelyn; his daughter Dianna Wilde; and grandchildren, Karen and Trevor Wilde; brother Ken and family; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty) McManaman, Marguerite Baraniuk and Gayle Wiebe and all their families. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Myrtle, and brother Bernard (Sam). Jack was employed by Canadian National Railway February 5, 1951 until early retirement on October 31, 1989. He enjoyed his summers at the cottage (Lester Beach/Belair) with family, especially his grandchildren. He grew gladiolas with a passion. He collected steam locomotive/railway art, memorabilia, and belt buckles (western) with equal zeal. More recently he shared the monthly breakfast with the Wednesday CN group, organized by Laurie Webb. The family extends their special thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre 3E for all their care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the charity of their choice. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., on Thursday, November 1 at 2:30 p.m. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre.
