EDWARD WILLIAM JULIUS BARTECKI It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Edward Bartecki, beloved husband of Anne on Wednesday, October 31, 2001 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Besides his loving wife, and soul mate Anne of 40 years, Edward leaves to mourn his children, Debbie (Mark), Tracey (Travis), and Sylvia (Brent) grandchildren, Brennan, Brittany and Charlotte; his mother Mary; one brother Steve (Marilyn) four sisters, Vicky (Stan), Eva, Dianne (Gary) and Eileen; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Edward was predeceased by his father Stanley and his brother Henry. Edward and Anne raised their family in Winnipeg. He worked for the City of Winnipeg in the Works and Operations Departments for 32 years, retiring in June of 1992. He won an award for Employee of the Year in 1991. Edward loved spending time with his family, gardening and going to Garden City Food Court to meet with his many friends for coffee and conversation. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone and we will all miss his wonderful sense of humour. The family wishes to thank the nurses at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion. Memorial prayers will be held on Sunday, November 4 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Chapel. A private ash interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edwards memory to a charity of ones choice.
