He worked on the family farm, various bush camps, grain elevators, pipelines and then settled into auto mechanics from which he retired in 1994. He took great pleasure in the outdoors with one of his favourite activities being moose and deer hunting. He was very involved in the Grand Marais Recreational Association and you could find him working cheerfully at every bonspiel and club function. Upon retirement, he dabbled in small engine repairs such as lawn mowers and chain saws. He took great pride and cherished the times spent with his grandchildren. He enjoyed the company of his family and his many friends, especially his coffee shop buddies.
