Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDR. HARVEY COODIN November 27, 1947 - November 1, 2001 Following a courageous battle with Leukemia, it is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and great-uncle, Harvey Coodin. Harvey passed away peacefully on November 1, 2001. He was born in Winnipeg on November 27, 1947 and was the youngest of three children. Harvey married Ellen on March 26, 1972, in Winnipeg and worked as a medical doctor at the Assiniboine Clinic for 28 years. Harvey is survived by his wife Ellen; two sons, Steven and Michael; brother and sister Saul Coodin and Caroline Cohen; nephews and nieces, Elana, Warren, Shane, Pamela, Sheri, and grand-niece Alexandra. Harvey is also survived by his mother-in-law Rebecca; brother-in-law Mark; and sisters-in-law, Miriam and Lorraine. Harvey was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Sylvia Coodin. Harvey was a loving husband and father. He always put his family ahead of everything else. He was sensitive and caring. He always managed to put a smile on someones face even in difficult times. He was very proud to be Ellens husband. Their marriage was one that every couple dreams of having. Harvey was also very proud of his two sons. He was thankful that he got to see his son, Steven, graduate from law school. He was also proud that he got to see his other son, Michael, begin medical school and follow in his footsteps. Harvey and his brother Saul were grateful that they got to relive childhood memories before Harveys passing. Harvey was also a devout medical doctor. He served on the Board of St. Josephs Nursing Home as Medical Director for 21 years, practiced Medicine at the Grace Hospital for 27 years, and practiced at the Assiniboine Clinic for 28 years. Harvey was the type of doctor that truly cared about his patients. He set an example for the doctors he trained and doctors he interacted with. He will be missed by the staff at the Assiniboine Clinic, St. Josephs Nursing Home, Grace Hospital, and all of his patients. Harveys family would like to thank all of his friends, relatives, colleagues, staff, doctors, and nurses for their support throughout this difficult time. Harvey will always be within all of us and his family will continue to make him proud. In lieu of flowers, donations in Harveys memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
