Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAMY IRENE CHESNEY Amy Chesney at the age of 83 years, passed away at the St. Boniface General Hospital on October 31, 2001. A celebration of Amys life will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home in Portage la Prairie on Monday, November 5 at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Julie Baker officiating. This will be followed by a gathering for family and friends at the Legion Hall. Amy was born on October 4, 1918 on the family farm near Rossburn, MB, daughter of Billy and Kathleen Moulson. She married Tom Chesney in 1939 and moved to Portage in 1941 where they raised three daughters. For several years, Amy worked for Stats Canada. As an avid member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 65, and its Over Sixty Club, she enjoyed crib games, bingo, shuffleboard, and outings. She was also a regular participant at aquasize classes. Amy went camping whenever she had the opportunity, in fair weather or foul, putting 140,000 kms. on her camper van, the "Nanamobile". When she was at home on Queen Avenue, Amy could be found in her backyard enjoying "happy hour" with her very special neighbours. She was predeceased by her husband Tom, and all her brothers and sisters. Amy is survived by daughter Marlene (Norm) Siatecki of Neepawa and their two sons and their families, Phil (Wanda) and Ally of Winnipeg and Chris (Lisa), Sydney and Eachoe of Malahat, BC; daughter Faye Wilson (Barton Howes) of Merritt, BC, and Fayes daughter Lee-Anne (Doug) Ragan and Liam, and Fayes sons, Garth and Kevin Wilson, all of Vancouver, BC, daughter Cheryl Chesney (Gerry Laferriere) of Winnipeg. Amy also leaves behind many nieces and nephews with whom she shared many happy times. Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Portage Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 65, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of their choice. The Omega Funeral Home in Portage la Prairie is in care of the arrangements. Friends may leave a message and sign the register book at their website www.legacy.com "Where life stories live on."
