MARIE ETHEL CIZIK (nee RIEDIGER) With courage and dignity, Ethel Cizik passed away on Friday, November 2, 2001, at Seven Oaks Hospital, 6 days shy of celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary with her devoted husband Nick. She will forever be remembered by her husband Nick; her two children, John (Debbie), Debbie (Ken) four grandchildren, Amanda, Kimberly, Nikki, and Kirt; and her granddog Monty; and numerous family members and friends. Born January 29th, 1927, in Winnipeg, MB one of eleven children, she shared many memories of her brothers and sisters; and fun times had by all. Ethel lived all her life in Winnipeg. She worked a short time as a dental assistant, and then devoted her time to becoming a mother. She was a #1 wife, mother, and grandmother, who was always anticipating everyone elses needs. She was a great cook, and her Holubchi were the absolute best. Ask anyone who had the opportunity to try them. She loved to spend time with her grand-children and was especially excited when she was going to B.C. to visit her son John and grandchildren Kim and Amanda. You could always depend on her to care for Nikki, Kirt, and Monty. She gave her most precious gift to her grand-children; her time and support; always encouraging them and praying for the best for them. Attending Kirts hockey games was always so much fun. She spent many hours chatting with neighbours on Chamberlain Avenue and loved every minute of it. Cremation has taken place. A service will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 10:30 a.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. If friends or family so desire, donations may be made to Childrens Wish Foundation of Canada (Manitoba Chapter), 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2 or Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. Ethel, you were the greatest wife, mother, grandmother, and friend we could ever have asked for. Your love will never be forgotten. Dont think of her as gone away Her journeys just begun; Life holds so many facets. This earth is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears; in a place of warmth and comfort, where there are no days and years. Think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched, for nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much.
