ROBERT LEE DEVLIN Robert Lee Devlin passed away peacefully with his best friend, Ricki Devlin at his side, on September 29, 2001, at the age of 78. Left to cherish his kind and loving ways are his wife Erica (Ricki) and his three children, Patrice, David (Kimberley) and Bonni. Memories of his life will be kept alive in the hearts of his four grandchildren, Melodie, Travis, Cameron and Alix. He will be sadly missed by his brother Jack (Joan) of Edmonton; his sister-in-law Susy, Calgary; his niece Lee Porta; and nephews, John, Robert Devlin of Edmonton and Nicolas Devlin of Toronto. He was also dear to the hearts of his sister-in-law Irmgard (Helmut) Eggert of Edmonton and brother-in-law Lawrence (Georgina) Schonert of Victoria and his nieces, Laurence and Diane and nephews, Timothy, Douglas and Trent. Bob was predeceased by his parents Louis Lee and Pearl Devlin, Edmonton; baby sister Dorothy Patricia, Winnipeg; and his younger brother James Murray, Calgary. Born in Winnipeg, MB, he joined the federal Department of Transport for a 35 year career, serving in the Yukon, Northern British Columbia, Alberta, Ottawa and Winnipeg. He was well loved for his humour and wisdom and his ability to whistle favourite tunes when words failed him in his later years. Over the years Bob touched the lives of many people, friends and family; we are all better for having known him. A celebration of Bobs life was held at home with a private family memorial service. Cremation followed. A very special thank you is extended to Sandy Telford and all the care staff of the Deltaview Habilitation Centre for their dedicated, kind and loving gentle care provided to Bob. Although Bob loved flowers he would appreciate that you make donations in his name to the Canadian Tibetan Buddist Society, 758 Scotland Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3M 1X6.

  • What a wonderful man. Enjoyed his humor and benefited from his wisdom, in that he would think things through and then come to logical and wise conclusions, or suggestions and advice. Truly loved the man! - Posted by: Irma Eggert (Sister law) on: Nov 03, 2012
