Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED BARKER August 12, 1911 - November 1, 2001 Peacefully, after a short illness, Mildred Barker passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2001 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1974; sisters, Norma McIntosh and Jessie Campbell. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Loreen (Cliff) and children, Ken, Craig, Grant and Karen Woodhouse; son Rick (Bev) and son Graham; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Keegan; and numerous nieces and nephews. In the late 50s and throughout the 60s, Mildred enjoyed working as a desk clerk in the pediatric ward at the St. Boniface Hospital. The family would like to thank Dr. Jim Ross and the nurses of the Surgical Ward at the Portage General Hospital for their help and assistance through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lions Prairie Manor Foundation, Activity Department, No. 24 - 9th St. S. E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3V4. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, with viewing one-half hour prior at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre.
