Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHETTYE FLORENCE PRESSON LOLLAR Hettye Florence Presson Lollar was born in Horitio, AS on March 22, 1907. She passed away on October 14 at the age of 94. She was the youngest of six children. After high school she and her sister Grace went to seek their fortune in the big city of Dallas. While working at the Nabisco Cookie plant she met and married Hermon Volney Lollar. They were married for 62 years before he died in 1992. Upon retirement they moved to East Texas. Prior to adopting her daughter, Mary Sue, she worked at Neman Marcus as a sales clerk. After Hermon retired they both traveled extensively visiting Australia, Europe, Asia, the Orient, Canada, the Middle East and Hawaii. At the age of 92, to celebrate her birthday, she made her first trip to Disney World in Florida with her daughter and grandson. In 1994, Hettye moved north to Winnipeg to live near her only child, Mary Sue Tiffin, her son-in-law, Doug Tiffin, and her two grandchildren, Jeremy and Bethany. Those were wonderful years as she watched her grandchildren grow up. The people of Lindenholm Place welcomed her and she became close friends with many of the residents. She took great joy in watching the long freight trains and the Canada geese from her apartment. In winter she would laugh at being out in the cold, often commenting that her friends in Texas would never believe what she was doing. She lived a long wonderful life that was filled with good friends, good fun and church activities. While the last two years, since her stroke, were difficult, she had an amazing ability to adjust and be content. She was loved by all who knew her and especially by her Lord Jesus Christ. While missing from our presence, by faith in Jesus Christ, she is forever in heaven receiving her reward. As a family we thank the wonderful staff of Deer Lodge 5 West, the residents of Lindenholm Place and her friends at Grant Memorial Baptist Church for their wonderful care and friendship. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made the Golden Echoes Seniors Choir at Grant Memorial Baptist Church in Winnipeg. A memorial service will be held on December 3, 2001 at 2 pm at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, 877 Wilkes Ave., Winnipeg.
