Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA PRAZERES NEVES DE OLIVEIRA IMPERADEIRO March 19, 1931 - November 2, 2001 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria Prazeres on Friday, November 2, 2001 at Health Sciences Centre. Maria Prazeres was the eldest of a family of three children. Maria married Jaime on July 19, 1955 in Parada de Lindoso, Portugal. Maria came to Thompson, MB in 1964 and was employed by the Mystery Lake School Division for 20 years. Maria and Jaime then retired to Winnipeg in 1995. Maria is survived by her loving children, Carlos (Laura) and Manuela both of Winnipeg; two grandchildren, Kelsey and Matthew; also a sister Joaquina Fernandes of New Jersey; and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Jaime, father Manuel, mother Adelaide and brother Manuel. Maria was a loving mother and grandmother. She was loved and respected by all who knew her, always ready to lend a hand. Now its her time to be in Gods hand and to join her husband in heaven. The family would like to thank all the friends and neighbours for their support, prayers and thoughtfulness at this difficult time, also special thanks to all the doctors, nurses at Health Sciences Centre. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 151 Austin St., with Rev. Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros officiating. Interment will follow in Assumption Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marias memory to a charity of ones choice.
