Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) JAMAN On Friday, November 2, 2001, at the Vita District Health Centre, William (Bill) Jaman of Vita, passed away at the age of 80 years. William was born at Sundown on February 23, 1921 to John E. and Anastasia Jaman, and attended the Somme School. William is survived by his brothers, Alexander (Lorena), Peter (Mary), Nicholas (Stella) and John (Marjorie) and sisters, Mary Chornopyski, Violet Shippit, Lily Jamon, and Sophie Zayatz. He was predeceased by his partner Nettie, his parents, John E. and Anastasia (Chobotar) Jaman, sister Kay Dawes, and brothers-in-law, Nick Chornopyski, John Zayatz, John Shippit and Raymond Dawes, as well as a nephew Bill Shippit. William served overseas as a "gunner" with the Royal Canadian Artillery until his honourable discharge in June of 1946. An expert welder as well as a machinist/mechanic, William worked for Benjamin Bros., B & B Rentals and Nelson Construction until his early retirement in 1986, due to declining health. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 10:30 a.m. at the St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Church at Sirko, with Rev. Fr. Miron Pozniak officiating. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined, however, should friends so desire, donations may be made in Williams memory to a charity of ones choice.
