LUCILE E. PIDWERBESKY (nee McFADYEN) With her family at her bedside, Lucile passed away peacefully on November 3, 2001, at the Grace General Hospital after a courageous struggle with cancer. Lucile will be lovingly remembered by her husband John; son Michael (Tina) and grandchildren, Dana and Dorian (the idols of her life) daughter Stacey Berry (Craig) parents Clarence and Esther McFadyen; sisters, Wendy Hudon (Ray), Marion Loiselle (Henri), Elva Akister (Maurice) and Shirley Keller (Ron) brother Darrell McFadyen (Ferne) as well as many family members and friends. Born in Purdue, SK, January 20, 1945, Lucile grew up on a farm near Asquith, SK. She went to elementary school at Eagle Bank School and completed high school at Asquith. She attended the University of Saskatchewan where she met her husband John. After marrying in 1964, Lucile and John settled in Kenora, ON, where they had their first child, Michael. They moved to Winnipeg in 1973 where Stacey was born. The most important part of Luciles life was her family. For 30 years she never missed a family Christmas with her Mom and Dad. The arrival of her grandchildren made her life complete; they were her "sunshine". Lucile dedicated most of her adult life to caring for her family. After her children were grown, she worked in retail sales and most recently as a receptionist at Controlled Environments Limited. Baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1999, Lucile discovered "the peace that passes understanding". Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the West Park Seventh Day Adventist Church, 416 Cathcart St., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Grace General Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Unit at (204) 837-0111.
