Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY RALPH SHORE It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Ralph Shore, Sunday, November 4, 2001 at St. Boniface Hospital. Born March 10, 1919 in Cupar, SK, Ralph grew up and survived the "Dirty Thirties" on the prairies. After joining the South Saskatchewan Regiment in 1940, Ralph served overseas with the 8th Recce Regiment. On returning to Canada he met his loving wife of 55 years, Hilda, and together they raised three active children. Ralph joined the customs service in Regina. Ralph was the consummate parent, energetically engaging himself in all of his childrens activities from scout leader and gymnastic coach, in addition to the innumerable family camping adventures. On moving the family to Winnipeg in 1965, Ralph lost no time becoming enmeshed in the community life of St. Vital. He was a very active member of the YM - YWCA, the Windsor Community Club and Regents Park United Church to name a few. Ralph lived by the credo "We dont stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing". Retiring at 55 he was never at a loss to fill his time, staying active in curling, badminton, volleyball and making frequent trips to Hawaii to enjoy the sun and surf. He will be missed in the Glenlawn neighbourhood where he was ever ready to lend a hand with hammer, ladder, paint brush and roll of duct tape. He is survived by his wife Hilda; children, Rick, Sheldon (Susanne), Ellen; grandchildren, Adrian, Alexia, Noelani, Chris, Kelsey, Adam, Erik and Atle; as well as his sister Muriel Harrington; and brother Harald; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph loved the life he was given to live, neither wasting nor regretting a moment of it. To all those whose lives he touched, he was an inspiration and an example to emulate. Congratulation on a life well lived. "Forever young, forever loved" Memorial service will be held Thursday, November 8 at Regents Park United Church, 613 St. Marys Rd., St. Vital, at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of choice appreciated. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
