ELIZABETH (LIZZIE) DOWSWELL On Saturday, November 3, 2001, Elizabeth Dowswell, nee Taylor, of Emerson, MB, passed away at Emerson Personal Care Home with some of her family at her side, at the age of 92 years. Lizzie is survived by two sons, Clarence and Don (May) her late daughter Marions family; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; sister Annie Waddell; sisters-in-law, Georgina and Christine Taylor; one special brother Wally Taylor; many nephews, nieces, friends and neighbours. She had a special bond with Jan Dowswell, Betty Loewen and Beverley Kantimere over the years. Lizzie was predeceased by her husband James T. Dowswell in April 1972, daughter Marion in February 1996 and grandson Gerry in September 1996 as well as four brothers and six sisters. Lizzie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a very special friend to all. A memorial service will be held at Emerson Anglican Church, Emerson, on Thursday, November 8 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lizzies memory may be made to the Emerson Palliative Care Unit, Emerson Personal Care Home or The New Horizons Club.
