ROBERT HENRY HUDSON "BOB" 1929 - 2001 Bob Hudson passed away peacefully, with his immediate family by his side, on November 1, 2001, at the Boundary Trails Health Centre, Winkler-Morden, at the age of 72. Bob is survived by Dorothy, his beloved wife of 44 years, one son Alvin (Kathi) of Rincon de Guayabitos, Mexico, granddaughter Kimberley, and great-grandson Dominik of Calgary, AB; one daughter Colleen (Will) Thiessen, and grandson Calvin of Roseisle; four brothers, Hilton of Winnipeg, Ewart (Joyce) of Carman, Ken (Shirley) of Hamiota, and Neil (Barb) of Sparwood, BC; three sisters, Dorothy (Jim) Stewart of Carman, Estella Dickey of Langenburg, SK, and Grace Renwick of Melita; brothers-in-law, Irwin (Joyce) Madill of Carman, and Jack (Gladys) Madill of Miami; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Bob Hudson was predeceased by his parents, Alvin and Ruth Hudson; parents-in-law, Clifford and Jessie Madill; brothers-in-law Alvyn Dickey and Ron Renwick. Bob was born at Vanguard, SK on February 28, 1929 and moved to Roseisle in 1937. Bob and Dorothy Madill were married on July 12, 1957 and resided on the family farm northeast of Roseisle. Bob worked at many jobs during his lifetime in addition to farming. Bob became involved in many community activities during his lifetime and was always willing to volunteer and lend a hand to anyone who needed it. In 1998, he was honoured to accept the provincial award for his work with ADEPT (Alcohol and Drug Awareness Promotion Team). Bob was kind, generous, hard working and a genuine "people" person who loved to talk to everyone. Many will remember Bob as always having a good joke to pass on. He loved his home on the farm and took immense pleasure feeding deer on the front lawn in the winter and anxiously awaiting the faithful return of his Canada Geese to the barn loft each spring. Bob will truly be missed by his family and friends. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre, unit H6, in Winnipeg, as well as the staff of the former Morden District General Hospital and the new Boundary Trails Health Centre. A special thank you to Dr. Peter Warren, Dr. Sandha, and Dr. Gord Zacharias. These centres became Bobs "home away from home" and the family truly appreciates the care given to Bob during his illness. A memorial service will be held for Bob Hudson on Thursday, November 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Carman Gospel Light Church, 245-1st St., N.W., Carman. Cremation has taken place. Private interment at a later date. If desired, donations can be made to the Back Door Youth Centre, 108 Main St. S, Carman, MB, R0G 0J0, in honour of Bobs great respect for the support and development of our youth.
