Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH CHARLES KONZELMAN Peacefully, on Monday, November 5, 2001 our dear father passed away at Luther Home in Winnipeg. Born March 19, 1908 in Austria, Joe immigrated to Canada in 1925. He married Agatha Janke in Winnipeg in 1933 and this union lasted until her death in 1992. This marriage produced eight children. Joe is survived by his children, Connie Walton (Moe), Fredrick (Florence), Richard (Ruth), Edward (Caroline), Janet Hilderman (Randy), Ron, and Barry (Maggie). He is also survived by his sisters, Constance Lundgren, Theresa Konzelman, Margaret Jung (Adolph) and Elizabeth Ambach (Mike) 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grand-children. He was predeceased by an infant son Glenn, his sister Luise Peitsch, and in Germany his sister Irma Bommerbach and brother Fritz. Joe started work in the wholesale meat business and soon acquired his own company. He continued to work in this field until 1949 when a career shift took him into the home building industry. The rest of his career was spent as a building contractor and real estate agent. His sons have many memories of Saturdays helping Dad on the job site. Joe enjoyed dancing with Agatha at the German clubs, making wine, singing in choirs, listening to opera and golfing. His love of the outdoors was instilled in the entire family. Joe spent countless hours at the cottage on Red Rock Lake and it became a favourite family gathering spot. He always had a house or cottage project in progress. He enjoyed a full and rewarding life and we will miss him dearly. The interment is at Brookside Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 815 Inkster Blvd., with Pastor Bruce Gelhorn officiating. The family would like to thank the staff of Luther Home for the care and compassion shown to Joe while he was a resident. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may wish to make a donation in Joes name to Luther Home, 1081 Andrews St., Winnipeg, MB R2V 2G9, or to a charity of your choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
