PHYLLIS JEAN MITTLER (nee WATSON) On November 4, 2001 at River East Personal Care Home, Phyllis Mittler passed away at the age of 82 years. Phylliss memory will be cherished by her children, son Gerald (Janet) and children, Aaron and Megan; daughter Allison (John) Rink and children, Michael, Christine, Linda and James; and son Robert and fiancee Esther. She is survived by one brother Alvin ( Marguerite) Watson and family; one sister Alice (Bill) Davis; sister-in-law Freda Zuck; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents George and Blanche Watson; her husband Robert Mittler; and several siblings, Gerald, Laura, Ronald; and two brothers in infancy. Phyllis was born in Winnipeg on March 2, 1919. After graduating as an R.N. from the Winnipeg General Hospital in 1944, she pursued a varied nursing career. Her favourite times were caring for the tiny premature babies at Childrens Hospital in Winnipeg. Moms love of children lasted throughout her life time and she was always available to help with the care of her grandchildren. She was very proud of each of their achievements. Phylliss love of travel and animals, her zest for life , her times spent at family cottages in the Whiteshell, teaching and playing a good game of bridge and her beautiful petit-point pictures will forever be remembered and cherished by her family. The family wish to thank Moms doctors, Dr. G. Beazley and Dr. J. Kreml. Also a special thank-you to the staff, volunteers and friends of River East Personal Care Home who helped Phyllis greet each day with her beautiful smile. Friends may call on Thursday, November 8, between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels. Funeral service for Phyllis will be held Friday, November 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels 669 Broadway with Chaplain Mark Scott officiating. Interment to follow the service in the family plot at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
