ETHEL ELLIOTT (nee SMITH) (RAMSAY) Peacefully with her family at her side at the Percy E. Moore Hospital on Monday, November 5, 2001, Mrs. Ethel Elliott passed away at the age of 84 years. Ethel will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Keith Elliott of Deer Lodge Hospital Winnipeg; five sons, Donald (Grace), Stanley and Martin Ramsay of Winnipeg, Earl Elliott of Winnipeg and Greg Elliott of Peguis; five daughters, Kathleen Spence of Peguis, Bernice McCorrister of Winnipeg, Linda Ramsay (Dave) of Winnipeg, Brenda Michell of Peguis and Sally Sayer; 28 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ethel was the last survivor of her Smith family. Ethel was predeceased by two daughters, Eileen Ramsay and Donna Ramsay-Sayer; two grandchildren, Valorie Ramsay and Jeff Spence, parents, Florence and Samuel Smith, sisters, Mable Swain, Margaret Spence, Grace Flett and brothers, Victor, Tom and Sam Smith. Prayers will be said on Friday, November 9 at 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m., also at the chapel, with Rev. Mark Becker officiating. Interment to follow at St. Peters Old Stone Church Cemetery, Selkirk, MB. Honorary Pallbearers will be her sons, Don, Stan, Martin, Earl and Greg. Active Pallbearers will be Bob Flett, Melvin Spence, Frank Swain, Ron Spence, Sheldon McCorrister and Bobby Sayer. The family extends a special thank you to the Peguis Senior Home Staff, Percy E. Moore Hospital Staff and Rev. Ron Favell for their compassion and care.
