Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET AUGUSTA SMITH (nee GRAY) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Violet Augusta Smith, after a brief illness, at her home on November 7, 2001, at the age of 73. Violet was predeceased by her loving husband Jack in 1998 and will be missed deeply by her son Scott (Patricia) brothers, Douglas (Dean), Jack (Cecil) and sister Dell (Walter). She was predeceased by her oldest brother Earl (Myra). Violet was born on January 27, 1928, in Winnipeg, to George and Violet Gray. She worked for 10 years at the Grain Exchange as a comptometer operator. She met her "American Sweetheart," Jack, in New York City and were married on June 6, 1961. She settled back in Winnipeg in 1966 to raise a family. Vi will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and her son Scott. Her gentleness, love and warm friendly smile will be a loss to everyone. There will be a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11 in the St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, 3 St. Vital Rd., with the Rev. R. L. Webster officiating. As expressions of sympathy, if friends and family so wish, donations may be made in Vis memory to a charity of choice. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
