JOSEPH ROBERT STEVENS Peacefully on November 6, 2001, Joseph Stevens passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital at the age of 67 years. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Betty), parents Elsie (nee Seddon) and James; brothers James and John and his sister Barbara (Somerville). Joe will be sadly missed by sisters-in-law Dolores Stevens, Irene McBeath (Neil), as well as by many nieces and nephews and all that knew him. Joe was born in Seddons Corner, MB, later moving to Winnipeg before settling in St. Andrews with his wife Betty. They shared many loving moments at the Gimli Trailer Park and feeding the deer in the Selkirk Park. Joe had a passion for gardening, fishing or just making people laugh. Fellow bowlers will miss his bowling prowess having represented Selkirk Bowling at the Nationals last May. A special heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for their kindness and compassion. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk with Rev. Steven Sharman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or the Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
