JAMES L. DICK Peacefully on November 3, 2001, James L. Dick passed away at Calvary Place Personal Care Home. At his side was his loving wife of almost 65 years, Mabel. Dad was born in Winnipeg on May 19, 1913 and remained a life long resident. He was predeceased by his parents; James and Sarah Dick; in-laws, John and Marina Newman; and brother-in-law Ray Woodfield. Besides his wife, Mabel, Dad is survived by his daughter, Arlene (Don) Hodgins of Calgary; daughter Dana (Ralph) Gunn of Winnipeg. There are five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving Dad are his two sisters, Lil Woodfield, St. Catherines, ON, and Carrie (Ray) Neilsen of Toronto, ON, and four nieces. Dad retired in 1978 after a long career with Westons Bakery. His retirement years were spent at their cottage at Grand Beach and their home at Kiwanis Courts in St. James. According to his wishes, Dad has been cremated and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (MB) or Canadian Diabetes Foundation (MB). Special thanks to all the staff of Calvary Place for their exceptional care and compassion given to Dad and the ongoing care for our Mom.
