MARGUERITE SOENENS (nee BELOT) Our dear mother left us peacefully on Thursday, November 8, 2001 in the St. Norbert Nursing Home at the age of 97 years. Marguerite was born in Sain-Bel, near Lyon, France in 1904 and immigrated to Saint-Boniface in 1917 with her three brothers, where they worked for many years on the family dairy farm. In 1940, after her marriage to Remi, they raised their family on Dawson Road where, through hers and Remis example, they taught their children to appreciate the virtues of simplicity, hard work, and the beauties of nature. They later moved to Saint Norbert in 1979 to enjoy their retirement years near their children. Mom was always at the service of her family. She was a selfless, kind, and generous mother and grandmother. Her husband Remi in 1981, and her brothers Andre and Robert Belot predeceased Marguerite. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Germaine Leger, and Simone Champagne (Jules) three grandchildren, Brigitte Leger (Daniel Vandal), Bertrand Leger (Noel), and Vincent Leger (Gisele Nault) and eight great-grandchildren, Julien, Liane, Jerome, Jenna Stefan, Colin, Zachary and Emily; her brother Julien Belot; her sister Lucienne Rubigny; her sister-in-law Stella Belot; and many nephews and nieces, here and in Belgium. The family wishes to thank all the staff at the St. Norbert Nursing Home for their kind devotion and care. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 13, at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Apres son mariage avec Remi, ils sinstallerent sur le chemin Dawson ou ils eleverent leur famille. En 1979, ils demenagerent a Saint- Norbert pour y etre plus pres de leurs enfants. Maman sest toujours devouee a sa famille. Elle etait une maman et une grand-mere douce et genereuse. Marguerite etait membre-a-vie de lUnion Nationale Francaise. Elle fut precedee dans la tombe par son mari Remi en 1981, et par ses deux freres Andre et Robert Belot. Marguerite laisse pour cherir sa douce memoire ses deux filles, Germaine Leger et Simone Champagne (Jules), trois petits enfants, Brigitte Leger (Daniel Vandal), Bertrand Leger (Noel) et Vincent Leger (Gisele Nault), ainsi que huit arriere-petits-enfants, son frere Julien Belot, sa soeur Lucienne Rubigny, sa belle-soeur Stella Belot, et beaucomp de neveux et nieces, ici et en Belgique. Le service funeraire aura lieu le mardi 13 novembre 2001 a 14 heures au salon funeraire Green Acres, suivi de lenterrement. Maman!, tu seras toujours dans no coeurs.
