EMILY KATHLEEN (KAE) GOSMAN (TRIMBLE)
Born: Jun 01, 1914
Date of Passing: Nov 09, 2001
Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILY KATHLEEN (KAE) GOSMAN (nee TRIMBLE) Our kind and loving mother Kae passed away suddenly, on Friday, November 9, 2001 with her family by her side. Kae was predeceased by her husband Francis Lorne Gosman, her sisters, Marjorie Millar (Gavin) and Lila Hyde (Clarence) and her brother Tolbert Trimble (Ethel). She is survived by loving sons, James and Jeffrey; daughter Madeline; granddaughters, Sara and Aimee; grandson Steve; great-granddaughter Miranda; and many nieces and nephews. Kae was born June 1, 1914 in Portage la Prairie, daughter of Margaret and Joseph Trimble. She graduated from Portage Collegiate, and went on to Normal School in Winnipeg. Her first teaching assignment was a one-room schoolhouse in Old High Bluff. She married Francis Lorne Gosman on July 26, 1941 and took years off from teaching to raise her three children. In her early years of marriage, the family moved from Portage to Red Lake, back to Portage and finally to Winnipeg. Kae returned to teaching in 1957, and taught at St. George School until her retirement at age 65. Deeply committed to her community, Kae was a member of St. Vital United Church, delivered Meals on Wheels for many years, and always donated generously to many charities. During wartime, she began playing bridge with a group of friends, and though members came and went, the core of the group played together for over 50 years. Devoted to her family, Kae always loved and looked forward to our frequent family gatherings. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Nobby Woo and the staff at Victoria Hospitals Intensive Care Unit. A celebration of life will be held at St. Vital United Church, 937 St. Marys Rd., on Tuesday, November 13 at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Brent Denham officiating. The service will terminate at the church. The church is wheelchair accessible. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
