Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLINDA MARGARET GOURILUK Suddenly, on November 9, 2001 in Edmonton, AB. Linda, daughter of Victor and Margaret Gouriluk was born April 16, 1955. Linda, along with her brothers and sister grew up in East Kildonan, attended Neil Campbell School, John Henderson Junior High, and graduated from Miles Macdonnell collegiate in 1973. She later graduated from the University of Manitoba with an Honours Degree in Arts. Over the years, she continued with post-graduate studies at the University of Manitoba, University of Waterloo, and the University of Alberta. Linda worked for the Core Area Initiative in the early 1980s before leaving Winnipeg to begin a career in media as a researcher, writer and producer. Her career resulted in credits from many production companies including the National Film Board, PBS, WTN and Mother Jones Magazine in San Francisco. In recent years, Linda focused her work on Aboriginal rights and health care issues in the United States and Canada. She had a firm commitment to many social and political causes which was reflected in both her career and her life. A citizen of the world, Lindas career took her to Saskatoon, Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, San Francisco and Edmonton. Linda was predeceased by her grandparents, most recently her grandmother Sarah Barnes and great aunt Jessie Armstrong, who were both an important part of Lindas childhood. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Victor and Margaret Gouriluk; sister Gail Muldrew (Larry) brothers, Gary (Helene), Rob (Honor), Brian (Patricia) and Bruce; nieces and nephews, Dawn, Nikki (Mike), Leanne, Julie, Sheila, Lisa, Kira, Christine, Glyne, Scott, Neil, Jessica, Andrew and Chris; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Lindas honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8 or a charity of the donors preference. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
