JEAN McKAY (nee McLEARY) The family sadly announces the peaceful passing of Jean McKay on November 11, 2001 at the age of 89 years. Jean was born March 6, 1912 in Scotland and lived her early years in Aghadowey, N. Ireland. She came to Canada at age 15 with her family and lived in Gladstone, MB before coming to Winnipeg. She worked at the T. Eaton Co. Ltd. where she met her beloved Jack. They were married October 31, 1931 and had a happy 57 years together until he passed away July 6, 1988. She is survived by daughter Eveline (Alan) Cassidy; granddaughter Terry-Lynne (Lawrence) Paton; grandson Jack (Colleen) Cassidy; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Stacey, and Lindsey Paton and Scott and Amanda Cassidy; sister Meta Parson; brother Jack McLeary. She was predeceased by brothers, Jim and Archie McLeary. Special thanks to the staff at Golden Links Lodge for all their care and compassion. Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. with Rev. Brent Denham officiating.
