EDWARD HERBERT GEORGE MILLER On Monday, November 12, 2001, Edward Herbert George Miller passed away peacefully, with his family at his side at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli, MB. Ted, as he was affectionately known, was born December 31, 1908 in Brandon, MB to Edward and Emily Miller. He began his career at the early age of 13 in 1922; selling with his father at Dominion Home Furnishings and later moved to Good Furnishings. Travelling mainly door-to-door and through word of mouth, Ted met and got to know many families throughout the North and West Ends of the city. His love of people and his easy way with people made it so easy for him to make friends. In 1970 he made a career change to Pioneer Electric until 1974. He then went to work at Hignell Printing until 1982 at which time he finally retired at age 73. Apart from his earlier years of selling, Teds most enjoyable work experience was at Hignells. He so looked forward to the annual Christmas Parties. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Marion Jean; his parents, Edward and Emily; his younger brother Fred and his sister Phyllis. He is also survived by his son Richard Miller and daughter-in-law Carol and daughter Marion Joss and son-in-law Keith. He also leaves to mourn four grandchildren, Scott Miller (Teresa), Kim Beil (Richard), Bradley Joss and Jennifer Joss; as well as five great-grandchildren; special friend Jane Jackman as well as numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 14 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Bartholomews Anglican Church, Winnipeg Beach, MB with Rev. Ken Pawluk officiating. Interment to follow in the Winnipeg Beach Community Cemetery. Special thank you to the staff at Johnson Memorial Hospital for their caring devotion to our dear father and family in our time of need. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Johnson Memorial Building Fund or a charity of choice. Rest In Peace and Always Remembered Gilbarts Funeral Home, Selkirk, MB in care of arrangements.
