Winnie was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Laura Sutton; her husband, George; her sisters, Merle and Irene; and her son-in-law, Jim Taylor. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne of Winnipeg and Mary Jane of Port Moody, BC; her grandson, Robert Taylor of Port Moody; and her sisters-in-law, Meryle Sutton of Calgary, AB and Nellie and Pat Lucas of Winnipeg. Winnie graduated from Daniel McIntyre High School and the Provincial Normal School. Before her marriage, she taught for 12 years at the Norberry Annex in St. Vital. Georges career took them to Bissett, MB, where they raised their family, and later to Cloquet, MN and Winnipeg. Wherever she lived, Winnie was very active in her church (remembering especially the Explorers at Bissett United church) and in her community. This service ranged from teaching ESL to new Canadians in Bissett to volunteering in speech therapy at St. Amant Centre when she was in her 70s. Her enthusiastic love of learning was lifelong. She particularly enjoyed seniors courses and travel programs at the University of Winnipeg. Her family would like to thank Dr. David Wiseman as well as the staffs of the St. Boniface and Victoria General Hospitals for wonderful care during her recent years of declining health. They would also like to thank the amazing staff of the Misericordia Health Centre, both Interim Care and Misericordia Place, for their loving care of Mother and Grandmother over her final two years. Flowers in Winnies memory are gratefully declined. If friends so wish, contributions to the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation (99 Cornish Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2A1) or a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated. Winnies funeral service will be held on Friday, November 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Misericordia Place, 44 Furby St. with the Rev. R. L. Webster officiating. A reception will follow and Interment will be in the St.Vital Cemetery. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
