FRED D. WOODS On Monday, November 12, 2001 at the Manitoba Developmental Centre, Fred Woods, a longtime resident of the Manitoba Developmental Centre, passed away at the age of 66 years. Funeral service will be held at the Aspen Centre, Manitoba Developmental Centre, on Thursday, November 15 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Ron Siemens officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Fred was born on November 18, 1935, son of Richard and Marion Woods in Winnipeg where he was raised and spent his early years. On February 29, 1956 he became a resident of the Manitoba Developmental Centre. Here he enjoyed life to the fullest of his abilities. He enjoyed going on the outings with the residents and staff. As well, he enjoyed art, music, old movies, playing cards and board games with the residents and staff. With the assistance of staff he liked to e-mail his brother and former favourite staff members. Predeceased by his parents, Richard in 1950 and Marion in 1994, and brother Frank in 1980. He leaves to mourn his passing his brother Sam of Shorcrest Home, St. Rose, MB and one sister-in-law Janice Ferguson of Winnipeg. He will be sadly missed by the staff and residents of the Manitoba Developmental Centre who enjoyed conversation with Fred.
