Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER DANYLUK It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of Peter Danyluk on November 13, 2001, with his children at his side, at age 79 years, after a short illness. He was predeceased by his wife Emily Danyluk (nee Rubiniuk) in 1981, his father William Danyluk, and mother Anastasia Danyluk, his brother, Michael Danyluk, and his sister Mary Ritchie, and niece Donna Danyluk. Left to mourn are his beloved children, Deborah (Mario), Brian (Bernadette), Brenda (Robert), and Linda; especially his beloved grandchildren, Andrew, son of Linda and Madison and Kirstin, daughters of Brian. His beloved sister Oresia Palashnuk, and especially his beloved sister, Netty (Ed) Johnson, and his sister-in-law, Olga Danyluk, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and relatives. Peter was born on August 26, 1922 to William and Anastasia Danyluk (nee Merko), in the town of Ethelbert, MB. He resided there until he was approximately six years of age. The family then moved to Detroit, MI for a period of nine years, where Dad developed his love for sports. He excelled as an athlete, but his true love was the game of baseball. This remained his hobby of choice, to play, and in later years to watch as an avid fan. The family returned to Ethelbert only to see Peter and his brother, Michael, join the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he served overseas in the Second World War with the R.C.A.F. Snowy Owl Squadron. He was a proud veteran and an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, most recently legion 141. After the war, he pursued his academics and received a Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Manitoba. He pursued his career as a teacher, primarily with Winnipeg School Division for approximately 29 years. His passion for education was only seconded by his passion for reading. During his early years as a teacher, Peter met and married his wife, Emily, and moved to Winnipeg were they had four children. At Peters request his body has been donated unselfishly to the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Medicine. A memorial service will be held in Peters honour on Friday, November 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverly St. We note the silence The atmosphere calms He is free of pain And now only memories remain.
