RUTH KILBREI (nee STOBERT) Surrounded by her cherished family, our beloved mother and grandmother, Ruth Kilbrei, entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, November 14 at Beausejour Hospital at age 77. Ruth was predeceased four years ago by her husband, Ben Kilbrei; and will be lovingly remembered by her three children and their families. Son Ken Kilbrei (Betty Anne) daughter Elaine Guy (Arnold) and son Rick Kilbrei (Carol) grandchildren, Kevin Kilbrei (Debbie), Regan Kilbrei, Alison Guy, Amanda Kilbrei, Daniel Kilbrei; and great-grandson Benjamin Kilbrei. Also mourning her loss are her twin brother, Harry (Kay) Stobert; and sisters, Elsie (Herman) Bachman, Erna (Jack) Koster, Mary (Clarence) Einfeld and Velma Depner as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ruth was born in Charlottenberg, East Germany, daughter of Fred and Natalia Stobert, and immigrated to Manitoba at age three. She resided in the Beausejour Brokenhead district all of her life. She lived for her children and grandchildren and was known for her selflessness and generosity toward them. Her delicious home cooked meals were legendary and regularly enjoyed by her extended family. For most of her life, she took great pleasure in her large garden and flowers which she tended immaculately. Ruth will be remembered for her special sense of humour, her original one-liners, and enjoyment of practical jokes. She asked for very little, but gave so much to others. Her passing leaves an immense void in many lives. She will be missed. Prior to her retirement Ruth was employed at East Gate Lodge for 15 years, where she took great pride in her work and enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow staff. More recently she happily volunteered at Beausejour Hospital. Viewing will be held on Friday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour. Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 17 at 2:00 p.m. in Elim Baptist Church, Beausejour, with Rev. Jeff Kilmartin presiding. Interment will follow at St. Ouens Cemetery.
