DAVE McCONACHY Peacefully after a lengthy illness, Dave McConachy passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on November 13, 2001. Many thanks to those who were so caring and gracious towards him during his stay there. He will be sorely missed. Dave leaves to mourn his passing Florence Davies, longtime partner and sweetheart and his four children, Brock and Dave McConachy of Calgary, AB, Daniel and Colleen McConachy of Winnipeg. He will always be remembered for his contributions to sports particularly baseball. He was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame, June 6, 1998. Born in Winnipeg, MB. May 24, 1925 he was adopted into a large family by Margaret McConachy and is the only known surviving family member. His wife Anne McConachy whom he married June 19, 1948 in Winnipeg, predeceased him in 1983. Dave was an ex merchant Navy Mariner. In lieu of flowers, if one so wishes, kindly send donations in his memory to the Last Post Fund, 51 St. Annes Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 2Y4. Memorial service and reception will be held at Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd., on Friday, November 16 at 7:30 p.m. A private family interment will follow at a later date.
