Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIDA MILDRED ISLEIFSON It is with deep sadness that the family of Ida Mildred Isleifson (nee McInnes) announces her passing on November 15, 2001 at the Sioux Lookout Zone Hospital. Ida was born in Giroux, MB on August 15, 1927, devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed many years as a licensed practical nurse before ill health forced her to give up her career. Her days were filled with baking, flower gardening, needlepoint, knitting, doll making and collecting and other hobbies. Ida is survived by her husband Murray of 45 years; sons, Steven (Barbara), Bjorn (Shelly) and daughter Dorothy Burton. Grandchildren, James, Sarah, Madisson, Rachel and Tanner. Also survived by one brother Lawrence McInnes; sisters, Dorothy Earl (Bill), Margaret Eady, Gladys Bell (Russell) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Mary and John McInnes. Brothers, Gorden, Baby Tom, Ivan, Tom, Norman, Donald (Duke) and sisters, Jean Bruce, Mary Landrie and Beatrice McInnes. "God saw her getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put His arms around her and whispered come to me, with tearful eyes we watched her suffer and saw her fade away. Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove he only takes the best. Rest in Peace." The family would like to thank the staff at the Sioux Lookout Zone Hospital who attended her during her illness, especially Marilyn Koval, Dr. Harriet Lennox, Dr. Larry Wilms, Dr. Lynese Atwood and other doctors at the Zone who helped her and in Winnipeg, Dr. J. Boacken and Oncologist Dr. Andrew Cooke at the St. Boniface Hospital, as well as the Zone Hospital nursing staff in OPD under Marsha Hamiltons supervision and appointment clinic staff and "B" ward staff and "A" ward staff under the supervision of Marion Hildebrand. A special thanks to the nurses on "A" ward who were so gentle, considerate and caring during Idas stay in the hospital and thanks to all other staff members that were concerned. And thanks to the many churches and individuals who offered up prayers for Ida. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews United Church in Sioux Lookout on Thursday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Noel Smith officiating.
