WALTER ANTON MELOSKY (1926 - 2001) It is with deepest regret that the family of Walter Anton Melosky, aged 75 years, of Greenridge, MB announces the passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Monday, November 12, 2001. Walter is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughters, Linda (Brian) and Audrey (Edward) his sons, Patrick (Cheryl) and Walter (Deb). He is also survived by his brother Louis (Mary) and sister Roxy (Ron) six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Walter is predeceased by his parents, John and May and infant son Jarvis. Walter was born in Grace Hospital on May 7, 1926 to John and May. He moved with his family to Greenridge in 1936. He took over the family farm in 1949 when his father returned to teaching. Walter and Mary were married October 7, 1950 in Senkiw, MB. Walter was active in the community as a counsellor in the RM of Franklin for many years. He was always ready to help a neighbour or a stranger in need as he was able. Walter ran a mixed farm, bees, laying hens, pigs, beef cattle, grain, milking cows, whatever his hands could find to do. Farming was the way Walter chose to live. He took satisfaction from crops in the bin, hay in the loft, silage in the pit and healthy calves on the way. He kept his family fed, clothed and warm and in the process helped feed the world. We will miss Walters earthy sense of humour, the stories of his life and the help he so generously offered. Prayers will be held Sunday, November 18, 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. The funeral service will be held, Monday, November 19, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Church in Rosa, MB. Interment to follow at a later date. Pallbearers are, David Antoniuk, Ted Antoniuk, Brian Brown, Vicki Brown, Christopher Gatey and Edward Gatey. Honorary pallbearers are the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations in Walters memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Together we stand alone. Arrangements entrusted to: Birchwood Funeral Chapel 150 Penfeld Dr.; Steinbach, MB 1-888-454-1030 or 1-204-346-1030
