WILLIAM HENRY DZIVER On Thursday, November 15, 2001 at Riverview Hospital, after a lengthy but courageous battle with cancer, Bill slipped away peacefully with his family at his side. He will be lovingly remembered by Janice (White) his wife of 38 years; sons, Kevin and Randy (Amy) the pride of his life granddaughter Brittany; mother Nell; brother Winston (Marg) and sister Betty (Graham) North. He will also be missed by many other relatives and friends. Bill was predeceased by his father John; father and mother-in-law, Sid and Verna White. Bill was born June 21, 1941 in Elphinstone, MB. His family moved to Portage la Prairie in 1953. He attended school at the Manitoba Technical Institute where he achieved his Radio Operating and Electronic Technician Certificate. He was employed by Federal Pioneer Electric, the University of Manitoba, and Winnipeg Technical College. Bill was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3870, enjoyed carpentry, cottage life, curling and time on his computer. Bill was a true friend who always lent a helping hand and looked out for everyones well being. He had many dear friends, co-workers and family who will miss him very much. Special thanks to Doctor Smith, Home Palliative Care Staff Richard and Don and the staff at Riverview Hospital (E3) for their care, compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7. "Live each day as if it is your last and give a lot of love and understanding to all around you." Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
