Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUDOLPH (RUDY) ANDERSON Rudy Anderson passed away after a brief illness, on Monday, November 19, 2001, aged 78 years. He is survived and fondly remembered by his wife Lorraine, nee Algate, of Winnipeg; sister-in-law Helen Courtice, (Gordon) of Penticton, BC; his sons, Lorne, (Martha Chuchman,) and Paul (Kathie) grandchildren, Christopher, Marnie and Brett, Danylo and Alexandra; his niece Catherine Anderson and his extended family of cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by his brother Len Anderson and cousin Ed Pollock. Rudy was born in Winnipeg in 1923 and attended St. Johns (Tech) High School. He served in the armed forces and took advantage of veterans assistance to attend United College, then law school. He was called to the bar in 1951 and practised law with distinction at the firm of DArcy and Deacon until his recent illness. Over the course of his career, he taught at Bar Admission courses, served as a Bencher of the Law Society and on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army. He golfed as a member at the Niakwa and Wildewood clubs, and enjoyed the lakes of the Whiteshell and Nopoming. He was known for his life-long love of learning, of the law and the liberal arts, an enthusiasm shared with successive generations of young lawyers. He will be greatly missed as Grandpa Rudy. A memorial service will be held at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, Friday, November 23 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Salvation Army.
