LILLIAN BEATTIE Peacefully, on November 19, 2001, at the West Park Manor, Lillian Beattie passed away in her 93rd year. She was predeceased by her husband George; and her sisters, Evelyn and Flo. Lillian will be lovingly remembered by her children, Don (June), Heather (Earl) Banks, and Dave (Janis) grandchildren, Ken, Karen, Donna, Deanna, Deborah, Kelly, and Shannon; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister Erna. Mom was born in Castleblayney, Ireland, on December 20, 1908 and immigrated to Canada in 1911. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. "We will all miss her dearly." Lillian was a life-time member of the St. James Presbyterian Church, and was very active teaching Sunday School. In her later years she was a member of the IODE. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the caregivers at West Park Manor Personal Care Home for their compassionate and attentive care, especially, during her final days. If friends so desire, donations may be made to West Park Manor, 3199 Grant Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3R 1X2, or to St. James Presbyterian Church, 1476 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3G 0W3. Memorial service for Lillian will be held on Friday, November 23, at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with Reverend Beth McCutcheon officiating. A reception will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. Peaceful be thy rest, dear mother, It is sweet to breathe thy name; In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same.
