FRANK WHITING Peacefully on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 after a short but valiant battle with cancer, Dad passed away at the age of 83 with family at his side. Frank is survived by his wife of 60 years Ella; daughters Linda (Wave Parker), Bobbi Cornock (Roy Asselstine) and Susan; grandchildren, Curtis (Dianne), Melanie (Jon), Shauna, Todd, Evan, Kristin and Brennen; great grandchildren, Megan, Melissa, Derek, Rory, Kelsey and Nicolas. Born in Birmingham, England September 14, 1918 he immigrated to Canada with his parents at a young age. Dad served overseas in The Second World War in Italy and Holland, worked at Dominion Bridge and spent over 35 years as a nursing Orderly at Deer Lodge Hospital (helping many of his patients after work hours). He volunteered with the St. Johns Ambulance and the Medical Corps in the Militia. Many a summer holiday was spent working at Lakeside FreshAir Camp helping others. He enjoyed camping, gardening and crossword puzzles, always liked tinkering and after retirement particularly enjoyed playing the drums with the Good Neighbours Dance Band. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey St. The family thanks the staff at Concordia Hospital for their care.
