Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA RUCHOTZKE On November 21, 2001 Olga Ruchotzke passed away peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital at the age of 92 years. Mom was born in Volynia, Russia on March 1, 1909. Upon arrival in Canada in 1914 her family settled on a farm in the Camper District, and moved to Ashern in 1924. She married Rudolf (Ralph) Ruchotzke in 1926 with whom she shared 49 years. They resided in Spearhill, MB until 1941 and then moved to Ashern to the family homestead. Mom and Dad farmed until 1964 at which time they built the Interlake Motel. They operated the motel until they retired in 1969. Dad and Mom then built their retirement home where Mom resided until 1999, at which time she moved into the First Choice Manor. Mom was a devoted chartered member of the Grace Lutheran Church. She is lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Elma McKinnon, Rita Lennstrom (Gus), Ronelda MacLennan (Don) and a daughter-in-law Fran; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Frederick (Jerry) and Dorothy Robinson; sisters-in-law, Villa Baker, Nellie Baker, May Baker, Alvina Hubert, Elsie Kopp, Emma Geisler, Emma Ruchotski; her extended family Gerry and Natha Breakey and family; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Karl and Marie Baker; her husband Ralph; her son Elmer; son-in-law Hector McKinnon; and grandson Kerry; sisters, Matilda, Tillie; brothers, Albert, Ralph, Roy, Adolph and Harry. A celebration of Moms life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 24 at the Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Interment to follow in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gerry Breakey, Danny McKinnon, Bill Bashucky, Stephen McKinnon, Donnie MacLennan, and Dain Lennstrom. The family would like to thank Dr. Lee Isaacs for the excellent care and support he gave to Mom with his visits to her home and during her stay at the hospital, to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital, to Dr. Bruce and Anthony, and the staff on the medical ward 4H Health Sciences Centre, and to Pastor Terry Throndson, to John and Glen of Arnason Funeral Home, to our family and friends for the love, comfort and support during Moms illness. Your kindness did not go unnoticed. If friends and family so wish, donations may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild in care of Runa Mangl, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0 to be used in the Ashern "Palliative Care Unit".
