MATHILDE SCHROEDTER Mathilde Schroedter, Tilly to her friends, died peacefully in her sleep at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale on November 20, 2001 following a heart attack several days earlier. Tilly was born May 5, 1924 in Todesfelde, Germany and moved to Canada with her husband and their children in 1961 settling on a farm near Hilbre, MB, where they lived on a farm. After their children left home they retired to British Columbia. Tilly moved back to Manitoba three years ago and lived at the Ashern Pioneer Manner in Ashern until ill health prompted her to move to the Eriksdale Personal Care Home November 13 of this year. Tilly is survived by husband Ernie Schroedter of Surrey, BC and her five children, Monika Tritthart (Charlie) of Hilbre, Erika OSullivan (Jim Miller) of Squamish, BC, Peter Schroedter (Linda) of Moosehorn, MB, Ingo Schroedter (Iris Perchaluk) of Winnipeg, and Dagmar Schroedter (Gene Smoliak) of Surrey, BC; grandchildren, Carmen Graham (Iain) of Winnipeg, Michael Tritthart (Lynne) of Hilbre, Tee Jay OSullivan (Becky) of New Harmony, UT, Sean OSullivan (Jennifer) of Squamish; Gabriel Schroedter of Winnipeg, Christian and Artemis Schroedter of Winnipeg, Tracey Henderson (Trevor) of Surrey, and Janine Schroedter of Surrey; great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Christopher Graham, Kira Tritthart, Trenton and Theresa Henderson; sister Greta Henners of Germany; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Germany; sister-in-law Anne Sidof of Ashern, MB; brother-in-law Willie Schroedter and family of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents and seven sisters in Germany and brother-in-law Henry Sidof of Faulkner, MB. A private family funeral service will be held followed by a celebration of her life to be held at the Ashern Legion Hall on Saturday, November 24, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Donna J. Smalley officiating. The family wishes to thank the home care workers and a special thanks to Mary Balaniuk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild, in care of Runa Mangl for use in the "palliative care unit" or to LIFE, in care of Doreen Hagemier, PO Box 684, Ashern, MB, R0C 0E0.
