WENDY LORRAINE JONES It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy Lorraine Jones, formerly of Hecla Island, on November 21, 2001. Surrounded by her family, she slipped away peacefully at the age of 55 years. She was predeceased by her father Brynjolfur Jones; brother Binny (Junior) Jones; sister Wanda Erickson; Amma and Afi Jones, Little Amma and Afi Johnson; and many other precious loved ones. Left to mourn are her best friend Edward Bates; mother Kristjana Jones; daughters, Krisandra Johnson Giles (Dean) and Korrena Aguilera (Javier) grandchildren, Karissa, Daniel, Autumn, Kailey and Mitchel; sisters, Vicky (Bud) and Bonnie (Don) brother Craig; brother-in-law Don Erickson; special cousin Marjorie Henry; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Mom grew up on Hecla Island. She loved to share with others her fond memories of the island and those who lived there. As an adult, her happiest days were spent in St. Vital, years ago as a new bride and most recently with Ed. In later years, Mom had two great joys - the first was spending time with her grandchildren and the second was talking about them with others. The children will always love and remember their Amma. As beautiful as she was on the outside, Moms true beauty lay in her compassion and genuine kindness. She was a great teacher in the lessons of life. We will always remember her sense of humour and contagious laughter. Mom was well taken care of by her faithful friend Ed, and we will all be forever grateful to him for his devotion to her. Special thanks to her home care workers, the nurses at the Victoria Hospital and Dr. Thottingal. We are especially proud that, through her donation to the Lions Eye and Manitoba Tissue Banks, Mom will be able to help many others. Such was Moms generosity through the whole of her life. when our mothers spirit left her body, it entered our hearts where it will remain forever. We will always treasure the memory of the woman we were proud to call our Mom. She always hated to say goodbye so, until we meet again, we love you Mom. Out of respect for our mothers wishes, there will not be a memorial service. Cremation has taken place. Her remains will be interred at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Visitors are always welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Grace was in her steps, heaven in her eye, in every gesture dignity and love. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
