ROBERTA (MOLLY) ANDERSON

Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERTA (MOLLY) ANDERSON (nee McKAY) November 1, 1916 - November 22, 2001 Peacefully at Fred Douglas Lodge, with her eldest daughter Nancy at her side. Molly will be lovingly missed also by her youngest daughter Kristine (Sheena) and granddaughter Janna; sons, Roger (Sandy) and grandsons, Riley and Carter; and David (Cathy). Born in Saltcoats, SK, Molly moved to Winnipeg where she settled to raise her family. During her career, she nurtured people of all ages, with her delicious cooking at numerous Winnipeg Care Facilities. Following her retirement, Molly became a member of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 141, where she was active with the Ladies Auxiliary. Moms appreciation of music inspired her to sing with numerous church choirs and as a soprano soloist. She also served as a Captain for the Girl Guides of Canada. Molly was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Carson and Margaret Burton and brother Jack McKay. Mom will be remembered for her strength and determination, her love of music, her great cooking and her unique sense of humour. She adored all children, and when she became a grandma, rose to the occasion with loving dedication. As mom had requested, cremation has taken place and her ashes will be interred with her late husband Roger at Brookside Cemetery in the Military Section. Neil Bardal Inc. and Memorial Society of Manitoba in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will be held at Fred Douglas Lodge Chapel, 1275 Burrows Ave., Winnipeg, MB on Monday, November 26 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined but a memorial gift may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St, Winnipeg.
