LORRAINE AUDREY THOMPSON (nee STILL) It is with great sadness that we announce that Lorraine passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 21, 2001, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 48 years, Denis; her son Warren, his wife Kelly, and their two boys, Brendan and Corey; her son Brian, his wife Sheri, and their three children, Jillian, Paul and Laura; sister Eloise Kyle; and special brother Bruce Barnfather. Lorraine also is survived by many relatives and extended family who will cherish the many wonderful memories they shared together. Lorraine was predeceased by her mother, Lillian Still, brothers, Mel Wilson and Fred Still; and sister Betty Critchley. Lorraine was born on August 16, 1929 in Winnipeg and grew up in St. Vital. She graduated as an R.N. in 1951 and worked as a TCA stewardess for a year before returning to an incredible 50 year association with St. Boniface Hospital. Lorraine was a Past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile, Sphinx Temple No. 116 and had many dear friends and fond memories through this philanthropic organization as well as the Khartum Temples Ladies Auxiliary. Lorraine was always active in her church at Charleswood United and previously at John Black Memorial Church. Lorraines greatest pleasures were family activities, either entertaining in her home or at the cottage in Lake of the Woods. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Lorraine and Denis always looked forward to their annual trek to Phoenix, AZ and the great friendships they developed there over the years. Special thanks to close family friend, Joel Hunt, for his care and compassion in difficult times. Thanks to the wonderful care and consideration provided by the staff on 3 - west at the Grace Hospital with particular thanks to Connie, Yolanda, Val and Bonnie. Our feelings are best summed up by grandson Corey, We love you Nana and thank you for everything. If friends so desire, in memory of Lorraine, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation or the charity of your choice. With respect to Lorraines wishes, cremation has taken place. The memorial service will be Monday, November 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Charleswood United Church, 3665 Roblin Blvd., officiated by Rev. Dr. Michael Wilson. There will be a reception immediately following at the Church. A private family interment will take place. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
