Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILLIAN MAY SMITH (nee THORNHILL) Born in Manitou, MB, February 25, 1922 to Alfred and Doris. Mum left us Wednesday, November 21, 2001 with the love and blessings of her three sons. Lil suffered from Alzheimers Disease for four years, but always showed her essence of love, generosity and caring of others around her. She always enjoyed cards with cousin Don and Betty. Also her Monday Crib, Tuesday Transit Bingo and Thursday Glee Club. Such a loving soul will be missed by all who knew her. Lil said weeks before her passing that the times working at the Lotus Restaurant were the happiest of her life. A special thanks to close friend Robbie for being there for Mum. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Sherry), Richard (Charlotte), Stephen (Margaret) grandchildren, Deb, Steve, Ryan, Jordan, Chris; great-grandchild Valicity; brother Art (Judy) sister Barb (George) nieces and nephews. Lil was predeceased by husband Phil, parents, Alfred, Doris and granddaughter Andrea. Dont stay long, for you are suffering, it would be selfish of me to want you to stay. Theres a better place where loved ones are waiting. Go there and dont worry about us. You are loved and always will be. Death is only a doorway to a place called Home. We will meet there with open arms and smiles. Go to the Light Mum, your soul is free. Thy Rest is Won. Son, Steve A service of Remembrance will be held Wednesday, November 28 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Vital United Church, 937 St. Marys Rd. In lieu of flowers, Mum would want donations to be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
