CYRIL de la WYCHE December 10, 1934 (Winnipeg) Peacefully with his family by his side, Cyril de la Wyche passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2001 at the Concordia Hospital. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife Zena (nee Zoltenko) daughters, Linda (Andy) Rewucki and grandsons, Andrew, Brandon, Joey and Tyson; Maureen (Curt) Marykuca and grandson Mason; brother Eldred (Eleanor) brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Edna and father Roylance. After completing his schooling in Inglis, MB, his first employment was with Paterson Grain in the administration office. He then started a career with Air Canada, where he worked as a supervisor in the accounting department. After 34 years at Air Canada, Cyril retired in 1990 and was presented with a recognition of service award. Cyril was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Cyril adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He especially enjoyed watching them play sports and rarely missed a game. His quick wit and wonderful sense of humour was especially evident when joking and teasing with his grandchildren. Cyril was an avid curler and enjoyed fishing as well. He looked forward to the many fishing trips with his friends. After his retirement, Cyril and Zena enjoyed travelling to many different places including Florida, Arizona and several trips to Europe. They loved having friends and family visit during these vacations and have very fond memories that will always be cherished. Cyrils generosity and kindness towards others was a special gift that deeply touched the lives of many people. His great love for his family will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered always. Pallbearers will be his nephews, David Kuzenko, Sterling Blackner, Ken Blackner, Michael Colburn, Trevor Wilk and Peter Cehlar. Honourary pallbearers will be Eldred Wyche, Lawrence Zoltenko, John Blackner, Grant Del Bigio, Mitch Colburn, and Gerry Ziprick. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. on Monday, November 26 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Donna Malhussier officiating. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. Flowers gratefully declined, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Cyrils memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
